Baden-Württemberg is one of the safest regions in Germany. To ensure it stays that way, we are preparing for emergencies with a large-scale disaster protection exercise.

To establish more routine in handling emergencies.
To enhance safety in our region.
What does this mean to you?
You are the reason we are conducting the large-scale disaster protection exercise “Magnitude 2024.” It is our duty to protect the population. However, you can also take your own precautions for emergencies:

The disaster protection exercise “Magnitude 2024” is a collaborative EU project in which emergency responders will simulate a 6.9 magnitude earthquake in the Karlsruhe metropolitan area from October 24–26, 2024.
The key focuses are:
Locating and rescuing trapped individuals.
Handling chemical accidents.
Ensuring water supply.
We practice this, so that an emergency doesn’t become a real crisis.
